To begin just a few things about me...
I am currently at Park West School an amazing school of 800 students and almost 80 staff. Our students range from grades Primary to Grade 9 and represent almost 70 cultures. I am the vice-principal and former music/ visual arts teacher at Park West. Ironically the school was touted as a high tech building but after 11 years we are sadly behind with aging, outdated technology. Staff range from being very competent in embedding technology in their practice to fully support students with diverse needs to staff who feel every intimidated using technology and as a result experience difficulty differentiating instruction/assessment for students.
My goal in taking this course is to grow in my understanding of the various Assistive technology and to further support my staff and students in meeting the needs of our students by utilizing these tools.
